My Fellow El Pasoan,
El Paso is on the path of realizing our great potential. We're building El Paso's Four-Year Medical School. Ft. Bliss is growing. Downtown is on its way to new life. As our community moves forward, it is very important to me that I hear from you.
The first Friday of every month, I am inviting you to our District Office in El Paso to share coffee and conversation with me and my staff. Our doors are open. If you can't make it in person, you are invited to send your questions or comments online, via our website.
The next "Coffee with Eliot" will be held: Friday, May 2, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

We have a great city with great people, but I feel we're not moving foward the way other cities are moving. What do we to do to start thinking big? With soccor fields and downtown and other projects, I want to see them move forward. We do need to have El Paso be more progressive and more aggressive, so our children can stay. That is inspiring. It's coming from your heart. Let me first say that you give us hope, which is the heart of doing what you want to do. In our jobs and in our lives, we're all making El Paso a better place every day. With downtown, the MCA, Ft. Bliss and other projects, such as soccor fields, we're transforming our community. But, it's with leaders like you where the change begins. |  |

What El Paso needs more than anything is leaders to work on jobs -- the highest and best jobs El Paso can get. We need to removed barriers to jobs and bring jobs with health benefits and retirement. For 10 years, we've kept our eye on that massion -- with Ft. Bliss, the MCA and other projects. El Paso hasn't been hit as badly as other parts of the country, but we'll keep working to improve opportunities at home. | |
